Dr. Greg Rogers
I began seeing a chiropractor when I was 18 years old to help with a shoulder injury.
Within a few short months my headaches were gone, my back pain was gone and the numbness that I had been having in my arms and hands was gone. I was hooked! I was so amazed at the body’s ability to heal itself without drugs (I was taking a lot of Tylenol for my headaches) or surgery.
I can still recall my chiropractor explaining to me how the nerve system worked and how it controlled everything in the body. How the nerves branched off of the spinal cord and how the spine needs to be shaped correctly and functioning properly for the nervous system to work at 100%. I remember thinking “this just seems so simple and so obvious, how come I’ve never heard of this before?” It wasn’t long before I had my whole family going to see my chiropractor. I was even able to get my very skeptical (something that I still bug her about to this day) older sister to go and she got great results for her long standing back pain. So much so that she decided to become a chiropractor even before I did!
On the advice of my sister I attended Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis Missouri. I’ll admit I was not a good student in high school, but when you go to school for something that you are passionate about something changes. I excelled at school and made the Deans List. The more I studied the body, the more I was amazed by it, and the more I became convinced of how vital it is to have a healthy functioning spine. I tell my patients that the spine and spinal cord are like the fuse box at your house. If a fuse blows or a breaker trips than the area of the house that is being supplied by those wires won’t have power, the kitchen for example. Without power your stove, fridge, dishwasher and microwave won’t work. It’s the same with the spine, if it’s not working properly the nerves can not carry all the “power” to the muscles or organs to have them work at 100%.
On a personal note…
